Belgian Hydrography Network - Top10Vector
The structure of the data for hydrography is analogous to the structure for the road network and the railroad network in Top10Vector. This is why the navigable part of the hydrography constitutes a third transport network, to wit the network for water transport. Again, the segments constitute the basis of the network. They follow the middle of the watercourse or the waterway and have a certain number of attributes describing their characteristics. The surface of the wider (wider than 3 meters) watercourses is represented by watercourse surfaces. Water points are pointed elements - often at the beginning or at the end of a watercourse segment - where water naturally surfaces or disappears in the underground. Water surfaces, such as lakes and ponds, and wetlands such as swamps and marshlands are also included in the data.
