Top10Vector is the National Geographic Institute’s series of topographic vector data. The data come from the topo-geographic inventory of the Belgian territory and, geometrically and semantically, they are the most accurate data of the National Geographic Institute. The data set contains 37 feature classes, which are divided into eight themes (road network, railroad network, power grid, constructions, land use and vegetation, local relief and particular zones), all of which can be obtained separately.

This data set contains the latest version of the borders of the Belgian postal codes, including the "special" postal codes (0612, 1049, 6099,…).

AdminVector is a vector data set containing the NGI's geometrically most accurate and semantically most detailed data. These data come from the topo-geographic inventory of the Belgian territory (ITGI) which was built and is maintained by the National Geographic Institute. The data set contains 12 feature classes as regards statistical sectors, boroughs, municipalities, districts, provinces, regions and Belgium's land- and sea-frontiers.

Road segments, supplemented with dirt road and path segments, constitute the road network's basic skeleton. They always run in the middle (approximately) of the carriage way (as a result Top10Vector contains road segments in both carriage ways of dual carriage ways) and come with attributes describing a certain number of properties of the road. Traffic obstacles consist of pointed elements on the road segments. A distinction is made between a local narrowing of a road and a roadblock. Road surfaces describe the space occupied by the carriage ways of roads (i.e. not by dirt roads or paths). A distinction is made between normal road surfaces and junction road surfaces. The latter occur at crossroads where at least three road segments meet.In this version of Top10Vector (v1.0-StreetNames), street names are linked to the road segments. The street names are saved in three attributes for Dutch, French and German street names. Only in the Brussels Capital Region, the street names are available in the two languages, French and Dutch. Outside the Brussels Capital Area, the street name is only available in the official language of the municipality.

Location of the address points on the Belgian territory. The result is obtained by merging the three regions on the basis of an XML file which has been supplied to BOSA for the BestAdres project.
